I would ask that you take me off the blacklist. I do not mean to post 3 replys at a time but I can't cut and paste for some reason on Wincustomize where I am posting from.

I like a good debate but will not argue about macs anymore.

By the way in the thread I did not say anything about a 1000 dollar monitor. I meant a 1000 dollar machine with a included monitor.

it was quite clear in your previous comments that you have no intention of 'debating' anything, and that your 'facts' bear no place in the real world due to there complete lack of any kind of substance.

Its nice you made an entire post just for me, but its time for you to move on.

Give me a chance to at least clean up the mess I made. I wouldn't blacklist you even if you deserved it.

"I'm not playing with you cos you don't die" is about as immature as "My dad is bigger than your dad".

Debating/arguing/opining about a topic SHOULD NOT prompt either party to one or other or both of those schoolyard 'defences'.

Here's one more..."if you can't stand the heat keep out of the kitchen".  Anyone entering a debate about the comparative attributes of Mac vs Windows is guaranteed lively responses, not all of which will be from a standpoint of intelligent observation and/or life experience....

Learn to deal or choose another topic....

Thank you Jafo. Good points.

If that was aimed at me, the point of the topic was to point out that you cant compare them... I have this post on another blog site too and that one has managed to be up for longer and has not induced the replys that I got on here...

...but if this sort of behavior is cool on this site and is to be expected (from a 33yr old no less) then I'll keep my posts to other sites.

Dude, take a chill pill. Regardless of the comments, you can always ignore them. Just because they are there does not meanit's against the law to ignore them.

I'm goin to another thread, this one is creepin me out

Keep in mind this forum is cross linked to many other sites. I didn't see your post as comparing them as more of a few reasons why Windows is better. But that is just me.

Sorry for the double post but in my defense I made some great points that others agreed on. What did you do remove the article?

Feel free to nuke this thread as well.

It's aimed at everyone and anyone.

The civility of a thread is only as good as the respondents it attracts.  If, for example someone appears to have more 'success' with a similar blog elsewhere it's likely it just hasn't attracted the 'wrong' moths ..... yet.

The time-line for moth attraction depends purely upon the blog's exposure/popularity...

For the record I found the other blog and that article. However it is on a gaming site and I don't want to stir things up there no matter how bad the facts of the article are.

Thanks Jafo.

also, for the record, I was following that thread that baldgye started...and eventually deleted, and he was the one in the wrong (I'm not referring to the lack of quality in the blog post either). I finally had to post when baldgye attacked Linux...basically what I got upset about is that he stated that Linux is horrible and that the command line had to be used to install software. This is very much inaccurate (I can't say that about the horrible part, as that is opinion and he might actually believe it) because the command line (terminal in Linux) is not manditory anymore, and most new users don't use it at all. It is still used by "old hands" who prefer it, but just about everything can be done the point-and-click way.  As far as installing software, baldgye actually attacked one of the best points about Linux...nearly all software can be installed with just a couple of mouse clicks and an internet connection.  There is a package manager that keeps track of every file installed on Linux, and "knows" what files are required for what programs...and makes sure that all files are all the proper versions for each particular app...this is much more effecient than anything Windows has come up with yet.

The next thing I know, the thread is deleted. I think it's pretty immature to react that way to opposition. If you can't handle criticism, you should stick to playing games...and leave the blog scene alone.

My wife's brother is the real 'computer-literate' person in our family....coder and 'IT Guy' in various National Banks, etc ... and one day I saw him at his machine typing what looked like dos at a command prompt...monochrome screen and all...to which I asked "What's that?"

His reply was "Windows Server 2000".

"What ...no GUI?"

"Nah...don't use them....prefer it 'direct'".

Takes all sorts....
