Well I now have no Microsoft products running on the PC - I switched to Fedora Core 3 Linux. Overall I am very happy with it! I am even impressed with Firefox! Of course I still have XP on a different partition. Any advice from anyone about running Linus/Firefox?
Here's what I am looking for. I was wondering if there is a nice little program that sits next to the clock in the system tray and will tell you the temp of your cpu and system as well as monitor the fan speeds. I have already tried sysmetrix and desktopx. Any ideas? Suggestions?
After fighting a losing battle and after realizing how messed up IE is, I have decided to try out other browsers. I now admit that maybe even if IE is a bit faster Firefox has more features. The more features I have at my disposal the more work I can get done. Not to mention you guys are right about IE not being the most "secure" browser out there. So I want to try to figure out Firefox first. But I need help. My biggest gripe about Firefox was the fact it never imported favorites EXACT...

So you can't decide between Hydraulic or Mechanical Disc Brakes? here is some of my thoughts on the subject of both, and the pros and cons of each. Mechanical Disc Brakes: Pros: Simple setup, the use of current V-brake levers, lower cost per set, ease of adjustability, easier to maintain. Cons: Not as powerful as hydraulic, mechanicals do not self center on the rotor, heavier in weight than hydraulics. Hydraulic Disc Brakes: Pros: Extremely powerful, self centering on the rotor, m...
Here is the story: you just got your paycheck and all of your bills are paid. You decide to buy a bicycle because you have been wanting one for awhile now. So you walk into Walmart, Costco or Toys "r" us and your eye catches some nice rides for low prices. So you figure it is a good buy right? Here is the reasons why you might have just wasted alot of money: 1. Weight of the department store brand bicycle vs a LBS (local bicycle shop) bike such as a Giant or Kona brand bicycle: Manufacture...
Well I will start by saying I have no interest in road bikes whatsoever. Lets take a look at the current technology of both kinds of bikes first. Road bikes have skinny tires, intergrated shifters/brake levers, ridgid frames and forks, 30 speeds, and made from some of the most exotic metals and alloys we have ever produced. So what do I dislike about a road bike? Well for starters there is price. I refuse to pay upwards of $3000 to $5000 for all the technology I would want or need when I...
I remember the old days. I was a young teen, watching MTV. Back then all they showed was videos all day, every day. The only thing you had to worry about was Mom catching you watching the videos becuase your Mom thought the music would rot your brain. Being rasied on nothing but country music, watching MTV rock videos was a way out of listening to country and a way to express myself differently. But my have times changed. MTV today is so different it is hard to recognize MTV. With shows...
You see it every time you open a copy of mountain bike. You see it every time you look at a high end mountain bike at a Local Bicycle Shop. Disc Brakes. And yet most bikes are still equiped with V-Brakes. I recently upgraded my Giant Ranier to a new set of Disc Brakes. While I was at the LBS I noticed that some bikes, in the 600 to 1000 dollar range, don't even have international disc brake tabs on the frame. So that means you are stuck with V-Brakes. What a rip off. Price is a factor ...
